Bang Cookies...and Yes, They're Bangin'

Bang Cookies is located in Jersey City, and here they offer an array of about nine different cookie flavors. I’ll just get straight to the point here...these cookies are phenomenal. And before you complain that Jersey City is too big of a pain to get to, or that you don’t live in the area, here’s some exciting information: they deliver to Jersey City’s surrounding cities, and even better yet, THEY SHIP. Looks like I’ll be ordering myself a lot of cookies while I’m back at school.

However, if you’re feeling motivated and actually make it over to the storefront, you’ll be able to tell immediately that you’re in for a treat just by seeing, or should I say smelling, what they’re cooking up. This is because cookies are assembled right behind the counter, so not only are you greeted by sheets upon sheets of s’mores cookie dough getting its final touches, but also by the sweet smell of chocolate chunk cookies that have just come out of the oven, and yes, it is as amazing as it sounds.

Bang Cookies’ flavors include triple chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, sea salt chocolate chunk, s’mores, espresso chocolate chunk, peanut butter chocolate chunk, walnut chocolate chunk, macadamia white chocolate chunk, and a seasonal flavor, which at the time I went was ginger molasses.

The first thing you’ll notice here is that they’re using chunks instead of chips, and thank god for that, because chunks trump chips any day. The second thing you’ll notice is that these are, for the most part, your traditional cookie flavors. They’re not doing anything wildly out of the box, but what they are doing is executing these flavors PERFECTLY.

Their cookies are made exactly how I like them, and how everyone should like them. They’re absolutely massive, perfectly dense, chewy, and loaded with their respective mix-ins. Another important note is that they’re actually cooked and not complete goo, unlike the cookies from some other bakeries I know…*cough* Levain *cough*.

I was lucky enough to get to try every flavor they offer except the triple chocolate chunk and the walnut chocolate chunk. I’ve been sitting here for ten minutes trying to decide which one to tell you was my favorite, but I genuinely cannot pick one. It would be like picking a single favorite type of food; it can’t be done because they’re all amazing in their own right.

Just to briefly describe each one…

Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk: Why isn’t everyone putting giant flakes of salt on their chocolate chip cookies? It takes it up ten notches. This traditional favorite is also chewy, moist, and loaded with gooey chunks of chocolate.

S’mores: Unlike most s’mores cookies that only focus on the chocolate and the marshmallows, this one actually puts a large focus on the graham cracker (in addition to the other two components). This made for a s’mores cookie experience like no other where you get a combination of all three delicious elements in each bite. These are also some high quality marshmallows...super gooey.

Oatmeal Raisin: As much as I wish there were chocolate chunks or something else in here besides raisins (I’m not a raisin-hater, I just don’t like them in cookies), this cookie is still a winner because of how strong the oatmeal base is.

Espresso Chocolate Chunk: Even though I don’t like the taste of actual coffee, I’m obsessed with coffee-flavored items, and this one just became my all-time-favorite. Although there is some chocolate in here, almost all the focus is on this absolutely perfect espresso flavor that’s present in every single bite.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk: You simply cannot go wrong with a peanut butter cookie, and Bang Cookies’ version is off the charts. It’s ultra creamy and perfect. I know I said I wasn’t picking favorites but…

Macadamia White Chocolate Chunk: White chocolate chip is probably my favorite cookie flavor in general, and this one did not disappoint. They didn’t overdo the macadamia nuts or underdo the white chocolate like a lot of places do, so thank you for that, Bang Cookies.

Ginger Molasses: Move over, gingerbread man, because you’ve been replaced by a wildly more gorgeous, chewy, and delicious cookie. That basically says it all, because this cookie sparkles from the sugar on top, isn’t crunchy and stale like most gingerbread cookies are, and it taste amazing.

If you haven’t already opened up a new tab to place an order for these cookies, you should probably get on that.
